PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE: ALL SHALL BE WELL

AN ARTICLE WRITTEN FOR THE INSTITUTE FOR YOUTH MINISTRY AT PRINCETON THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY:

Regardless of our political views or the demographics we use to divide the people in our country, it is evident that in this current season many people are feeling anxious, scared, forgotten, and left out. In light of this reality, the prayer that has been on my heart and mind is actually a song that we sing often at Mars Hill, and was written by my dear friend and our Lead Worship Pastor, Troy Hatfield. Recently, while traveling with Troy to a conference, I mentioned to him how much I love and appreciate this song. Troy’s response added depth and meaning to the lyrics, as he told me the “all” in this song wasn’t pointing to our life circumstances, but was written to mean “all people.”
